About me
I was born on October 28, 1980 and grew up in a small town in Florida. I graduated Crescent City High School in 1999. Later, I attended the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts where my thesis film, an animated short film called A WORK IN PROGRESS won a Student Academy award in 2003.
Ten years later I began my career with the animated short film RUIN, which garnered attention from 20th Century Fox and led to my directorial debut with THE MAZE RUNNER. That film was made for $34 million but earned $350 million at the box office and two sequels followed. Combined, the trilogy earned nearly $1 billion in box office gross. Following the success of that trilogy, I directed my fourth film KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES released in 2024. Today, I’ve been announced as director for the incredibly important adaptation of THE LEGEND OF ZELDA.
